When we set out to find premium olive oils that could stand on their own, it was extremely important that we only consider real-deal extra virgin olive oil; olive oil from a reputable source, strict quality standards, and accreditation and/or certification capability. After months of searching, we found it!
Our WLG Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil of Chile is a fruity hit to the nose, with notes of spring snap peas, artichokes, avocado, and fresh cut flowers. The mouthfeel is medium-body with a slightly bitter, peppery taste. The finish is clean and light with no significant aftertaste or lingering bite. It's the perfect "starter" tasting oil for someone who is just getting their feet wet in the world of artisan extra virgin olive oils. It has enough pungency to stand out against any mainstream brand, but not so bold as to overwhelm your taste buds.
Similar to our other Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oils, we recommend this be used in its purest form, i.e. drizzled over food as an accompaniment to your delicious meal. This is the perfect oil to set out with several of our flavor infused balsamics for a bread-dipping party, or to mix with any of our balsamics for an outstanding salad dressing. The beauty of our oils and balsamics is that a little goes a long way. While the standard ratio of oil to vinegar for salad dressing is 3 to 1, our oils are so full-bodied and our balsamics so full-flavored, we actually recommend 2 parts balsamic to 1 part olive oil, and a much smaller amount of both than a standard recipe requires.
